I always loathed Sundays as the next day was a schooling day. However I was in a very good mood today. I was beaming from the moment I got out from my bed. The reason? My favourite football club, Manchester United had overpowered Reading FC by two goals to nil the previous day. Due to that, there was a spring in my steps this morning.
After completing my homework, I got into my sporting gear and got ready to go for my badminton training at Jurong West Stadium. I was very excited at the prospect of pitting my skills against my fellow trainees. I arrived at the badminton court with my friend, Prasith at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. After some warm-up exercises, I was paired up with Prasith and we started to play some doubles matches. We were winning about six matches in a row but finally had to succumb in the next match due to fatigue. Although I was disappointed with the loss, I had to get ready to play a singles match against a school team player. I was contented when I won that match but disappointed when I lost the next match against another school team player. At five o'clock, Prasith and I left the badminton court for home. I certainly had an exhausting training session. However, I was still satisfied that I had improved my game of badminton over the past year.
Once I reached home I had a break after which I started on my Mathematics revision. After a sumptuous dinner, my family members and I sat down for a game of carrom which has become a routine every Sunday evening. I enjoyed spending time with my family.
Despite my concern that the homework was going to pile on me the next day, it has been a fun-filled and pleasant day.
Today was a typical Friday at school. I was seated at the edge of my seat the whole day, anticipating the final bell which would signal the end of a schooling week. It would mean a very much deserved weekend break.
It was a very exhausting day at school today as we had two periods of each subject. It was all work and no rest. The final bell eventually came at 1:05 pm by which I was worn out. However, I was totally estatic as the much awaited bell finally came.
After which, my classmate Barry and I took a bus back to my home to start on our literature project. I had to stand in the bus throughout the journey as there were no seats available .While in the bus, my thoughts were filled about ideas for my project.
Once we reached home, we immediately started on our project. We put in alot of effort in the project not only to get good grades but also to impress Miss Fox. Although we had a few hiccups, we were able to finish it with great relief. There was a sense of pride and joy in my achievement. Well, I do hope to get good grades.
After a while my friends, Prasith and Abiram came over and we played football near my house. We had good time and I also relieved alot of the stress that I had accummulated over the week. Sadness crept into me when they finally left. However I managed to console myself as it was the start of a weekend.
In all, it was a very tiring but fruitful day as I had completed my literature project.
I hurriedly stuffed my swimming costume and some extra clothing into my bag. I was in cloud nine and in high spirits. Today was a Sunday and my family and I were going to Pasir Ris park with my relatives. I could hardly contain my excitement. I slinged my bag over my shoulders and rushed to my living room. I grabbed my football that my parents had bought for me recently and hurried out of the house where my family members were waiting for me.
We had decided to go to the beach today to relieve stress. By the time we had reached Pasir Ris park it was 9am. I laid out the mat where we sat down and relaxed. The shimmering blue sea was like myriads of diamonds as the morning sun shone on it. I enjoyed this exhilarating sight while my family members were happily chatting.
After a while my relatives arrived and I played football with my cousin. We later played a game of two-on-two with my cousin and I pairing up against my father and my uncle. My mother, sister and my aunt watched on happily. My team eventually lost.
After resting for a while, we went for a swim in the sea. We had the time of our lives out at the sea. After which, we had our bath. I sat down and ate my lunch peacefully enjoying the soothing breeze.
For the final activity of the day, we rented a few bicycles and cycled around the park.
After a while, we were tired and decided to call it a day. I was dejected that all the fun had ended but on the flip side I was delighted as I had a wonderful time with my family and relatives. I would definitely be looking forward to my next visit to Pasir Ris park.
